Reading
Daily schedule: 30 minutes should be spent on literacy every day!
Do a Read Aloud
Read Alone (then read to a grownup for a few minutes)
This week for reading, we are focusing on the following FL:
RS 3: Recognize common high frequency words and personally significant words.
I can read…
o word wall words.
o words that are important to me.
Can your child recognize sight words in their reading this week? This is a great way to help build your child’s confidence. Before reading a story together, you can go through the story and do a scavenger hunt to see what sight words you can find. For those students who need extra support, the grown ups can read the words that are not sight words (at first) and have your child read the sight words.
*Note: Continue to do the skills we learned from week 1, found on the Reading Lessons page.*
